IBEI Hosts Delegation from LLILAS, University of Texas at Austin

On Monday, June 16th, the Institut Barcelona d'Estudis Internacionals hosted a delegation from the Teresa Lozano Long Institute of Latin American Studies (LLILAS) at the University of Texas at Austin.

The event served as a great moment to strengthen academic ties and explore opportunities for collaboration on Latin American studies. Adela Pineda, Director of LLILAS, presented an overview of the institute’s mission, programmes and interdisciplinary research initiatives. Representing IBEI, Laura Chaqués introduced the institute’s academic profile, while Andrea Bianculli highlighted IBEI’s involvement in European research projects focused on Latin America such as the LAC-EU Doctoral Network and the EULAS Network.

The meeting marked a valuable exchange of ideas and reinforced both institutions’ commitment to establishing better transatlantic academic cooperation.
