Celebrated Argentine Writer María Negroni Joins EULAS Network Workshop at Universitat de Barcelona

21/05/25, 10:00

Last week, the EULAS – Jean Monnet Network, in collaboration with the Universitat de Barcelona, hosted a captivating literary workshop with acclaimed Argentine writer and poet María Negroni. The event brought together students, academics, and literature enthusiasts to explore Negroni’s boundary-breaking work and creative process.

Recognized as one of the most important voices in contemporary Argentine literature, Negroni shared insights into her writing, which beautifully explores themes of displacement and memory, weaving connections between cities like Buenos Aires, New York, Berlin, and Barcelona. Her perspective echoed Borges’s idea that “literature has no borders”—a notion she fully embodies in her work.

Negroni also introduced her latest book, Colección Permanente, where she reflects on writing as an act of observation, selection, rewriting, and literary disappropriation. Throughout the workshop, she generously opened up about her creative process, encouraging participants to think of writing as a curatorial and transformative practice.

It was an event full of learning, dialogue, and inspiration. We thank everyone who attended and invite you to share your own reflections or photos from this unforgettable event!
